Facilitation

poster2I believe that meetings can be both effective and fun, that trainings can be both educational and inspiring and that retreats can build strategy and be rejuvenating…at the same time.  And I believe that the MORE inspiring a training is, the more learning happens; the MORE rejuvenating a retreat is the more effective the strategy you design together will be.

I’ve been honing my skills in the art and science of facilitation for over 20 years. My approach is grounded in Freirian and Boalian theory and practice and my “specialty” is in tailoring – I am a strong advocate of creating agendas that are relevant to everyone in the room.  I began facilitating my peers in high school, then in youth leadership movements. Later I worked as a teacher, facilitator and curriculum writer for organizations locally, nationally and internationally. I’ve trained and facilitated thousands of people from all age groups in most US states, Eastern Europe, Central and South America and East and West Africa. I train in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

The primary types of facilitation I’m offering at this time are:

  • Strategic planning retreats
  • Stakeholder summits and community engagement trainings
  • Equity, inclusion and accountability workshops and coaching
  • Staff team-building and visioning retreats
